Feebee – CD1

Remember when I said we “weren’t really trying” this month, and that I wasn’t going to stress too much during the 2ww??? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. THERE IS NO TIME OUT IN TTC. ONCE YOU GET ON THAT TRAIN THERE ARE NO STOPS UNTIL THE LABOUR WARD.

Why are my temps still rising when I started spotting last night and am in full flow today?

  1. ah feebee, am gutted for you….I was really hoping this would be it for you. read mm and think if you can, you should definitely take some time out. Its hard to get on with the every day things when your head is full of stuff. Take a few days off and look after yourself and DS, then in a few days you will pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get back in the saddle. You are right in saying that there is no stopping on the ttc train….at least now you can get clomid started and hopefully this month will happen for you (clomid twins!?). Wish I had something more helpful to say but just wanted you to know I’m thinking/rooting for you.

  2. Thanks Sadie. Have taken today and tomorrow off, have to work next week but will see what happens after that. Had a fab day with DS and would like a lot more. On the other hand this TTC is starting to cost a fortune so can’t get carried away.

On the subject of Clomid twins, it would be fantastic, but apparently my chances of m/c are higher so not sure I want to put myself through that stress. Ah well, I’ll be happy with whatever I get at this stage.

  3. Hey,
Happy weekend! I am officially starting my soy experiment…I will be taking soy days 2-6 to improve egg quality. I have no idea if it works but it should be benign anyway as it is just a supplement designed to relieve menopause symptoms, ironically! Read about it on Fertility Friends & it must be confusing a lot of pharmacists to see young women stocking up on change of life stuff!

I am glad to have the shorter cycles so if there is no success this time my cycle will be done well before Christmas…in fact I would be fertile over the holidays!
For me that will most likely be it. I love my family so dearly & can’t do much more of this- & will just count my blessings. (My older children are so incredibly nuturing with my 3 year old Helena…a baby would truely be a gift to us all-which is why I have been trying for so long)

I have big hopes for you….you have plenty of time age-wise and I am looking forward to hearing good news from you soon..hopefully within a few months since this TTC thing is so hard!

Do you start Clomid soon or have you already?

    take care,
    Lisau

  4. Hi Lisa – I started Clomid on Fri. Would you consider taking it? It must be a tough decision to give up TTC, let’s hope you won’t have to make it.

Do you mind me asking you a temp question? My temp went up last Wed, started spotting on Thurs and temp has gone up every day (but one) since, with highest ever temp today. Could be something to do with Clomid, but that doesn’t explain the Wed and Thurs temps. Add to that the fact that my temps rose coming up to O, making my cycle completely abnormal. Can you think of any explanation?

  5. Hiya,
I think I read that Clomid cause hot flushes, in that medical tombe by…ermmm….Jools Oliver! so I’m sure it would effect your temps.
So there you go – Dr.Derv has spoken!

  6. Thanks Dr Derv, I’ve heard of hot flushes too, just doesn’t explain the pre-Clomid temps. Ah well, I’m sure now I’m on the magic drugs that everything will work out just fine.

JTL – so sorry to hear about AF. Does it ever get any easier?

  7. Hi feebee,
Hmmm as far as Clomid goes, I don’t honestly know. I guess as much as I would like another child I don’t know that at this stage in the game if I would want to go that route. Especially with the twin factor- as I do have 4 now..I could handle two more but my DH,…I don’t know!
Although I do have a family history & a secret wish!
In your shoes though,i’m sure I would have used Clomid.

Actually, I kind of have been in your shoes! I had a baby at 33, got pregnant at 34 right away, miscarried & the a few months later got pregnant with Max,my second. I had a miscarraige before my first as well. So had I investigated things I might have gone with Clomid as I definitely have always had a shorter LP-back then though CM before O as as advanced as my TTC knowledge was.

I got on the TTC/internet support atuff when trying to conceive my third. I had 2 miscarraiges before Lily was conceived (one VERY early) & did a search on something or other & got directed to a parenting site. Then I learned all the TTC stuff like OPK’s & such!

I will go get progesterone levels checked as soon as I do
(if it happens) conceieve. You are right, giving up TTC is a huge choice. I am not a huge career driven person. Soon I am going to start giving private art lessons & teaching art to small groups. So even my job will be child related…for me kids are almost a calling. As annoying & whiny as they sometimes are they are so much more often fascinating, moving & extraordinary.
My son Max is this HUGE bird lover and is really studying seriously everything he can about them. he will come to me and say “Mommy, did you know that the difference between the Great Blue Heron & the Grey Heron is..?.(& then he goes on to tell me some slight difference in markings)”
He is so interested in life as are all my children..Nick is into origami & made me the tiniest cranes in a homemade box for my birthday. Lily is love herself..I call her “The Minister of Love”hugs for everyone & joy in all she does. Helena is hilarious but gets mad if you laugh because she takes herself very seriously. She is obsessed with Violet & Verucka from the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory movie..lot’s of stomping unfortunately!

Sorry for the rambling..but you did start it by getting me thinking about this whole TTC thing! I wish I could help with the temp thing..I do know that higher temps go with the progesterone hormone so maybe that indicates that your levels were O.K that cycle, especially since they were up at the end. Temps are so weird though that it is hard to say.. Really, they only indicate ovulation & that only after that clear shift from pre-o to post -o. I’m sure that since the Clomid you will see more temp weirdness so you will really have to rely on the OPK’s.

How are you feeling on it?

    Take care,
    Lisau

  8. Lisa – it’s so nice to hear about your family, they all sound fantastic. My James is also the happiest, most loving child you could imagine and has been laid back and cheerful since the day he was born. At the moment he is very into jigsaws and has been obsessed with balls since he was first able to pick one up – he sits and watches football (soccer) matches with me and mimics all my gestures and shouting. I could go on all day!

Good luck with your soy – imagine, a BFP from Santa!
