Feebee – 7 DPO

I have a confession. I tested yesterday morning. BFN obviously, but there was a very, very, very faint line after 15 or 20 mins. I wish I knew if my saveontests.com/testsforless.com dipstick HPTs have an evaporation line – anybody???

Will try and hold out for another few days before testing again, as I’m not fond of the “is it, isn’t it?” routine.

CM is the same as yesterday. I thought boobs were slightly sore when I was lying down, but seem fine now I’m vertical. I did get a sort of “pins and needles” pain in my lower abdomen this morning – my first cramps, yay!

I mentioned yesterday that I was feeling quite emotional. The BFN that I omitted to mention probably had something to do with it, but was probably just the ups and downs of TTC getting the better of me. This leads me to my 2nd and far more disturbing confession; I cried this morning during, ahem, The X Factor. I wish I could say it was only once….

  1. Ha! So did I – Xfactor that is (cringe) – when the young Welsh fella kept choking, the poor lad and then again when the guy with cp got the boot. What a wuss am I?

Also did another hpt (I’m day 21)& an opk at the same time – I know I’m crazy. I’m just worried now that maybe we missed Ov altogether as I waited 42 days after mc for my next Af so maybe this one (which I hope doesn’t arrive) would have been very long too…

Re. your evaporation line, I found this

What’s an evaporation line? Evaporation (“evap”) lines result with the test’s antibody strip just looks slightly different than the space around it. There is a line of antibodies (usually made from mouse cells) in the Control and Test section. The Control line binds with any liquid and turns pink (or blue, in tests using blue dye.) The Test/Result line turns pink only if pregnancy hormone is detected. If not, the moisture passes over this strip and does not turn pink. It may, however, become more visible when the light hits the moisture on the strip– it may appear gray, colorless, like a “dent” in the test, or like a “ghost line.” It may appear at any time– as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.

The simple fact is that there is always “something there” that is slightly visible– it’s simply the antibodies on the test that would turn pink in the presence of hCG. When the test becomes wet, or as it dries, or after it dries, the antibody strip may become more visible. Therefore, all tests may have them. It is not a defect; it’s just how tests are made.

A real positive is identified by its color (pink or blue, whatever the color of the test’s dye is) and its appearance within 10 minutes of urinating on the stick. A line that appears after 10 minutes, regardless of color, must be considered an evap line and is caused by the test’s chemicals changing. HPT’s are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the “rapid” time limit of 10 minutes are invalid.

  2. The CP guy got me too, and then I just lost it towards the end and ended up crying with joy for some of the young ones!

I recognise the evap line blurb – is it from peeonastick.com? Thanks for posting it but unfortunately it is not the right answer! Have been driving myself demented googling saveontests and evaporation line since I posted here. Some people have never got an evap line on a dipstick, some have. I guess the only way to know for sure is to WAIT UNTIL 14DPO – I’LL HAVE GONE INSANE BY THEN, at the moment I can’t see myself lasting until the end of the day! Did you get a crazy lady line on your HPT?

Will PM you on MM just incase you don’t get this.

  3. Hey Feebee, the other (retired) testing queen, checking in to see how you got on….I had at least 7 internet hpts with faint lines on them…..were they all evaporation lines??? all the information insists that they are….and even if they are BFPs you know you won’t believe it until you get it within the time limit…its a mare.
This probably not helping you either….but at least its all looking like its going the right way, Creamy CM etc….

  4. Sadie, you spoke too soon – no CM and a BFN with no evap line. I know it doesn’t mean anything and I know every pregnancy is different blah blah blah. Will just have to wait and see……….AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

  5. When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are moidisys added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service? Thanks!
